Mission
Bringing my extensive experience as an Operation Manager with Intel Corporation for 16 years, 12 years as a Manager for various Kauai resorts, and as a restaurant owner in Waimea, I possess a wealth of skills and knowledge that would prove invaluable to the Kauai County Council team. My active involvement in diverse community organizations such as HLTA, Boys and Girls Club, Children Dream Foundation, Vacation for Warriors, and Hawaii Children Theatre underscores my unwavering dedication to serving others.
My priorities in addressing key issues on Kauai include tackling landfill concerns and implementing efficient waste management solutions, drawing inspiration from successful models employed in other regions. Additionally, I aim to address staffing challenges in the hospitality industry by focusing on enhancing housing affordability, daycare services, and public transportation to alleviate labor shortages and elevate service standards.
Experience
30 years of experience in management and leadership, I have served as a Senior Manager for the top company worldwide. Additionally, I have held positions as Concierge Director and Senior Manager in the Kauai tourism industry, bridging the gap between visitors and locals with a clear understanding.
6 years as a leader in the Army, overseeing AVLB and CEV tanks. Transitioned to become an Avionics Technician for the last 3 years, specializing in OV1-D reconnaissance planes and Hugh500 Helicopters.
8 years as a Salvation Army board member.
6 years on the Kauai Veteran Council. Junior vice commander, and President Kauai Veterans Museum.
6 years - VP Hawaii Children's Theater.
