With a background in management, a passion for helping others, and extensive experience in both the corporate and local sectors, I am poised to address key issues facing Kauai. From supporting veterans and tackling homelessness to improving waste management and addressing housing affordability, I am ready to work tirelessly to build a better future for all of us. The choice to pursue a seat on the Kauaʻi County Council was not taken lightly; it signified a wholehearted commitment embraced by both myself and my family. My wife, Cookie (Medeiros) Thomas, has been an unwavering pillar of support throughout this journey. Her enduring strength has empowered me to channel my passion for aiding others, utilizing my expertise in management, organization, and deep-rooted love for the island of Kauai. With her encouragement, I am enthusiastic about the potential positive changes I can enact within our community.
My priorities in addressing key issues on Kauai include tackling landfill concerns and implementing efficient waste management solutions, drawing inspiration from successful models employed in other regions. Additionally, I aim to address staffing challenges in the hospitality industry by focusing on enhancing housing affordability, daycare services, and public transportation to alleviate labor shortages and elevate service standards.
